'Dizzy' - Oriental Hybrid Lily

Spicy fragrance, 3 to 4 Feet. Late July /Early August flowering.
These flowers are a bit smaller than the old 'Midnight Star' from the late Harve' Strahm that back in 2004 was a sell out at $32.95 each, but, 'Dizzy' has the same delicious fragrance. These snow-white blossoms have deep chocolate-colored nectary furrows that radiate out into crimson red bands throughout the cent of each petal for stunning contrast. Deep crimson spots on raised papillae in the flower centers complete the show. As with all Orientals, well drained soil is a must. 3 to 4 Feet. Mid / Late July Flowering. Yummy Fragrance.
Our photo is from a specimen being grown in the greenhouse for use in breeding. The bluish spots on the leaves are not a disease, but rather residue from an organic copper based fungicide developed for use on fruit trees that we use in the greenhouse because of the crowded conditions with little air circulation coupled with high humidity.
Photo inset is of the now "extinct" 'Midnight Star', that was unfortunately lost to cultivation when Strahm Lilies sold their business.
Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of this Oriental Hybrid Lily Bulb cultivar ranges from Premium-size (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-size (over 20 cm).
