'Belladonna' - Orienpet Hybrid Lily Bulb
Classification: Orienpet Hybrid Lily Bulb (USDA Zones 5-9, colder climates w/winter mulch.)
Stock # 3051 - 'Belladonna' Orienpet Lily Bulb
It is said that Italians lust for the classic red FerrariŠ only ranks below their admiration of the 'Bella Donna'. Meaning 'Beautiful Lady', 'Belladonna' is more intense in color than 'Novatore' and this rich, almost golden-yellow introduction has been a real attention grabber. Far superior to 'Golden Stargazer' which we discarded following our garden trials years ago. 'Belladonna has huge bowl-shaped flowers, great rich color, and soft, wafting fragrance all in one "beautiful lady". 4 Feet. July to August.
Economy-size, package of three (3) bulbs.
These are generally smaller sized bulbs than we normally use to fill orders. All are flowering size, that after winter harvest and sorting, are usually planted back in late March to supplement the following year's fall crop.
Bulb size varies; we grade lilies for Minimum Size, not "Top Size" like other companies, so some may be quite a bit larger than others, even in these Economy 3-packs. You will find that our bulbs overall run larger than the standard dutch grading system to insure that they are indeed "flowering size".
"Dear Dianna,
. . .even though yours [your bulbs] were supposedly smaller 'on-sale' ones, they were perfect and robust and bigger than any bulbs I've gotten through several mail order companies." [Email Dec. 8th 2008 following purchase of our "scratch and dent" bulbs last fall.]
