Song of Love - J. Mak Oriental Hybrid™
Spicy fragrance, 3 to 4 Feet. Mid / Late July flowering.
The second release of Johan's highly anticipated L. speciosum hybrids, 'Song of Love' rivals 'Song of Japan' for beauty and stamina. As with all of Johan's L. speciosum selections, this is an incredibly strong grower. The rich pink flowers are graced with just a touch of white at the petal tips. Mid-ribs carry the same pink coloration though just a tad darker. As with most all L. speciosum hybrids, the green nectary is the perfect foil.
This is a mid July bloomer in Johan's field which is earlier than what we expect of most L. speciosum hybrids such as the selection L. speciosum var. Uchida that goes back to before WWII. Johan's field report noted that 'Song of Love' was about two weeks ahead of 'Song of Japan' which was about two weeks ahead of 'L. speciosum Uchida'. These have lasting power. 4+ feet. July flowering. Light fragrance.
